Whitewater rafting West Coast Grade 3 to 5 Buller, Mokihinui, Karamea

Day 1: Rafting on our very own Buller River, a full day of grade 3-4 white water in the Upper Buller Gorge. Perfect white water to get your skills up and leave you itching for more. At the end of the day we continue our journey, this time by road over to the West Coast. We set up base for the following 2 nights at the Mokihinui River mouth.

Day 2: Commences with a spectacular flight up The Mokihinui River, a prized class 4 whitewater run. A slightly different style of rafting with more technical manoeuvres, you will not be disappointed. This West Coast river is a jewel with unique native forest cascading down to the sandy beaches, quietly hiding the history of it’s gold rush days. After a full day of excitement we head to camp to enjoy an evening spent around an open fire with a sumptious barbeque in true Kiwi style.

Day 3: After a scenic drive up the coast to Karamea, we meet the helicopter for our flight. After two days’ rafting we are well warmed up and on the ball for this unrivalled grade 5 rafting run. With technical moves to be made, our adrenalin will be pumping as we negotiate the many rapids. Rapids with well deserved names such as, Holy Sh*t and Scarecase, will put your skills to the test. We spend five hours rafting some of the best rapids through New Zealand’s pristine wilderness.
