At Ultimate Descents
New Zealand, our staff are like our family, it's
for this reason we choose to surround ourselves
with people that are both enjoyable to spend time
with and also extremely experienced at what they
do. Multi-talented is a good way of describing
the team. All our river guides are highly trained
and qualified at what they do, often training new
and up coming guides from all around the globe.
When our quiet season comes
around you'll find most of our guides head off
overseas to further themselves or pass on their
knowledge with other white water operations around
the world.( Japan, Austria, South America, Australia,
Iceland and Switzerland.) With an excellent safety
record that is hard to beat, rest assured you'll
not find a more professional, experienced or
passionate team than the crew at Ultimate Descents
New Zealand.

Staff
Fun loving
professionals is the term we came up with
to best describe UDNZ staff members.
Their skill, dedication and
enthusiasm are the cornerstones of our operation
and the reasons why so many of our clients return.

Tim
Marshall |
Tim has not left the
Buller region since he arrived back in
1998, being in love with the area so much
he decided to take over the company in
2002 and hasn't looked back. Not only involved
with the daily running
of UDNZ, his broad skills base crosses
all levels from upper management, training,
river guiding to driving the bus, these
always see Tim with something to
do.

Lisa |
| Lisa started training up as a raft guide with Ultimate Descents many moons ago. She chose to return to the team and to The Buller. When Lisa is not working
for us you find her teaching what she knows
best - rafting and river rescue. In our
off season you will find her rafting on The Fraser River, Canada. |

|
Regan |
| Regan, born and bred in Murchison is keen to share his local knowledge of the region. Our youngest guide has the enthusiasm and sense of fun you would expect but is also proving to be a top guide. This season saw him get his grade five ticket on The Karamea, one of the West Coast's finest helicopter whitewater rafting runs. |

Si |
| Si, as you can see from his smile, loves the rivers. He splits his time between Canada and New Zealand. Guiding most days, his days off he will head for the river to go whitewater sledging or kayaking. Like the rest of the team, he's a true Kiwi at heart, returning home each year to run The Buller and our other West Coast rivers. |

Kowhai |
| The newest addition to the team. It didn't take long for him to put his lifejacket on and join us for some fun. |

Our
staff-training program ensures that everyone
really knows stuff and also gives our trainee
guides the opportunity to learn from the more
experienced staff members. All our river guides
hold NZRA (NZ
Rafting Association) Raft Guiding Awards
and are trained in first aid and river rescue.
With just
the right blend of youth and experience youll
find the UDNZ team informative, interesting,
easy to relate to and loads of fun!
